Have you ever done your name and sign language?

Today we were learning how to pronounce names and sign language. My name was very easy because my name is very short. Some people struggle to do their names because hanging signals was very tricky.

I found it easy to do my name in sign language.

I found it tricky to not be shy of the camera.

ANZAC Day Postcard

ANZAC Day postcard

Today we were learning about ANZAC day because many men died and we want to celebrate their hard work. We had to write it to whoever we wanted to. I wrote it to my family. Then I had to write what we ate in the war and then I had to write what it meant to be in a war.

By putting a picture.

My postcard was easy to make my postcard and it was difficult to think of things to write about.

What do you think of my poster?

The Walking School Bus

We were reading a book about 'Don't Miss the Bus'. It was about a bus that is a line of people walking and a teacher at the front. I think it is a good idea because it teaches you how to look left and right and how to cross roads. The kids also get to school safely.

We had had to type what the author think and why,, and then what I whink and why. It was tricky thinking of ideas to write because I had plenty of ideas but I didn't know which one to choose.

David Walliams Fact File

This week in reading we were learning about David Walliams, because we have been reading a book called Slime which he wrote. This is my fact file on David Walliams, my fact file shows information about David, it also has a picture of him and two of his books.
On my file I choose to use blue and green because I like these colours.
I found it difficult because I could not find much information about him, so I got help from Mrs Naden.

Matariki Stars

This week in class we were making Matariki Stars out of paper stars, We made them by writing information about Matariki on each star, I had help with my star from my classmates  because I was struggling to keep up. They helped colour in the stars to make them look colourful. We cut them out,  folded them in half and glued them together. They tied the string to both of the holes we have hung them on the wire.

Martas Journey

This week in reading we were reading about a Refugee, Her name is Marta. She was from a country where there were bombs dropped from planes, onto their house, family, friends and pets. Some people survived, and escaped to New Zealand. Marta and her mum live together in New Zealand.
In my drawings it shows before she came to New Zealand, She drew buildings on fire and planes dropping bombs. In the after picture Marta had drawed it has a new school, a new house, and she drew her new friend.

I enjoyed reading this story, because it tells me more information about refugees.
I found it hard to read some of the words in the story.
